Chapter 16 • Verse 10
काममाश्रित्य दुष्पूरं दम्भमानमदान्विताः। मोहाद्गृहीत्वासद्ग्राहान्प्रवर्तन्तेऽशुचिव्रताः॥
kāmam āśhritya duṣhpūraṁ dambha-māna-madānvitāḥ mohād gṛihītvāsad-grāhān pravartante 'śhuchi-vratāḥ
Meaning
Resorting to insatiable desire, filled with hypocrisy, pride, and arrogance, they hold false views through delusion and act with impure resolves.
The demoniac are driven by endless desire (never satisfied), full of pretense, pride, and arrogance. Through delusion they hold wrong ideas, and their resolves are impure — aimed at selfish ends regardless of harm.
