Chapter 14 • Verse 6

तत्र सत्त्वं निर्मलत्वात्प्रकाशकमनामयम्। सुखसङ्गेन बध्नाति ज्ञानसङ्गेन चानघ॥

tatra sattvaṁ nirmalatvāt prakāśhakam anāmayam sukha-saṅgena badhnāti jñāna-saṅgena chānagha

Meaning

Of these, sattva, being pure, is illuminating and free from disease. It binds through attachment to happiness and attachment to knowledge, O sinless one.

Sattva is the purest guna — luminous, healthy, clear. But even it binds! Through attachment to happiness and knowledge. The spiritual seeker can get attached to blissful states and intellectual understanding, creating subtle bondage.

Strength Reflection

"Even attachment to happiness and knowledge can bind me. I seek freedom beyond sattva."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, let me enjoy purity without attachment to its happiness or knowledge.
