Chapter 14 • Verse 22

श्रीभगवानुवाच। प्रकाशं च प्रवृत्तिं च मोहमेव च पाण्डव। न द्वेष्टि संप्रवृत्तानि न निवृत्तानि काङ्क्षति॥

śhrī bhagavān uvācha prakāśhaṁ cha pravṛittiṁ cha moham eva cha pāṇḍava na dveṣhṭi sampravṛittāni na nivṛittāni kāṅkṣhati

Meaning

The Supreme Lord said: He who does not hate illumination, activity, or delusion when present, nor longs for them when absent, O Pandava...

The transcended one doesn't hate any guna's manifestation (sattva's light, rajas' activity, tamas' delusion) nor craves them when absent. This equanimity toward all guna-states indicates freedom from their grip.

Strength Reflection

"I neither hate nor crave the manifestations of any guna."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, grant me equanimity toward all states — neither hating nor craving.
