Chapter 13 • Verse 16
बहिरन्तश्च भूतानामचरं चरमेव च। सूक्ष्मत्वात्तदविज्ञेयं दूरस्थं चान्तिके च तत्॥
bahir antaśh cha bhūtānām acharaṁ charam eva cha sūkṣhmatvāt tad avijñeyaṁ dūra-sthaṁ chāntike cha tat
Meaning
Outside and inside all beings, unmoving yet moving, unknowable due to subtlety, far away and yet near.
Brahman is outside all beings as the cosmic reality and inside as the inner self. Unmoving as the absolute, yet appearing to move in manifestations. So subtle as to be unknowable to the senses. Far away (transcendent) yet near (immanent).
Strength Reflection
"God is both far and near, outside and inside, still and moving."
Devotional Surrender
O Lord, though You seem far, You are nearer than my own heart.
