nabhaḥ-spṛiśhaṁ dīptam aneka-varṇaṁ vyāttānanaṁ dīpta-viśhāla-netram dṛiṣhṭvā hi tvāṁ pravyathitāntarātmā dhṛitiṁ na vindāmi śhamaṁ cha viṣhṇo

Meaning

Seeing You touching the sky, blazing with many colors, with mouths wide open and huge fiery eyes, I am terrified to my core and find neither courage nor peace, O Vishnu.

The form touches the sky, blazes in multiple colors, has gaping mouths and huge fiery eyes. Arjuna confesses: his innermost being is shaken. He cannot find steadiness or peace. Direct encounter with the infinite overwhelms normal capacities.

Strength Reflection

"Encountering the infinite may overwhelm me — this is natural and honest."

Devotional Surrender

O Vishnu, Your form terrifies me to my core. I confess my lack of courage and peace.
