Chapter 10 • Verse 35

बृहत्साम तथा साम्नां गायत्री छन्दसामहम्। मासानां मार्गशीर्षोऽहमृतूनां कुसुमाकरः॥

bṛihat-sāma tathā sāmnāṁ gāyatrī chhandasām aham māsānāṁ mārgaśhīrṣho 'ham ṛitūnāṁ kusumākaraḥ

Meaning

Of the Sama hymns, I am the Brihat-sama; of meters, I am Gayatri; of months, I am Margashirsha (November-December); of seasons, I am spring.

Among Sama hymns, the great Brihat-sama; among poetic meters, the sacred Gayatri; among months, the auspicious Margashirsha; among seasons, flower-bearing spring. Music, poetry, sacred time, and renewal — all divine expressions.

Strength Reflection

"Sacred music, poetry, and the renewal of spring all express divine beauty."

Devotional Surrender

Lord, in sacred chant, poetic meter, and spring's bloom, I celebrate You.
