Chapter 10 • Verse 24
पुरोधसां च मुख्यं मां विद्धि पार्थ बृहस्पतिम्। सेनानीनामहं स्कन्दः सरसामस्मि सागरः॥
purodhasāṁ cha mukhyaṁ māṁ viddhi pārtha bṛihaspatim senānīnām ahaṁ skandaḥ sarasām asmi sāgaraḥ
Meaning
Of priests, know Me to be the chief, Brihaspati; of generals, I am Skanda; of bodies of water, I am the ocean.
Among priests, Brihaspati the guru of gods; among military leaders, Skanda the divine commander; among waters, the ocean that receives all rivers. Leadership, power, receptivity — all have their divine exemplar.
