Chapter 9 • Verse 8

प्रकृतिं स्वामवष्टभ्य विसृजामि पुनः पुनः। भूतग्राममिमं कृत्स्नमवशं प्रकृतेर्वशात्॥

prakṛitiṁ svām avaṣhṭabhya visṛijāmi punaḥ punaḥ bhūta-grāmam imaṁ kṛitsnam avaśhaṁ prakṛiter vaśhāt

Meaning

Presiding over My own prakriti, I create this multitude of beings again and again, helpless under the influence of material nature.

God creates through His own nature, not through external material. Beings emerge helplessly subject to material nature's laws. This 'helplessness' applies to the unawakened — those who don't know their true nature. Awakening frees us from this helpless subjection to prakriti's cycles.

Strength Reflection

"I awaken from helpless subjection to nature by knowing my true identity."

Devotional Surrender

Lord, free me from the helpless cycles. Let me know myself as Your creation, not nature's slave.
