Chapter 17 • Verse 28

Meaning

Whatever offering, gift, austerity, or action is performed without faith is called 'Asat,' O Partha. It is of no avail here or hereafter.

Whatever is done without faith — sacrifice, charity, discipline, or any action — is 'Asat' (unreal, untrue). It yields no benefit in this life or the next. Faith (shraddha) is essential; without it, actions are empty.

Strength Reflection

"I ensure all my actions are backed by sincere faith."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, fill my actions with faith so they are not empty and fruitless.
