Chapter 16 • Verse 3
तेजः क्षमा धृतिः शौचमद्रोहो नातिमानिता। भवन्ति संपदं दैवीमभिजातस्य भारत॥
tejaḥ kṣhamā dhṛitiḥ śhaucham adroho nātimānitā bhavanti sampadaṁ daivīm abhijātasya bhārata
Meaning
...vigor, forgiveness, fortitude, cleanliness, freedom from malice, absence of excessive pride — these belong to one born with divine qualities, O Bharata.
The list concludes: energy, patience, determination, purity, non-hatred, humility. These 26 qualities constitute divine nature (daivi sampat). One born with these qualities is destined for liberation.
