Chapter 11 • Verse 55

मत्कर्मकृन्मत्परमो मद्भक्तः सङ्गवर्जितः। निर्वैरः सर्वभूतेषु यः स मामेति पाण्डव॥

mat-karma-kṛin mat-paramo mad-bhaktaḥ saṅga-varjitaḥ nirvairaḥ sarva-bhūteṣhu yaḥ sa mām eti pāṇḍava

Meaning

He who does work for Me, who takes Me as the supreme goal, who is devoted to Me, who is free from attachment, who is free from enmity toward all beings — he comes to Me, O Arjuna.

The chapter's final verse gives the complete formula: (1) work for God, (2) take God as supreme goal, (3) be devoted to God, (4) be free from attachment, (5) be free from enmity toward all beings. These five qualities lead to divine union.

Strength Reflection

"Work for God, goal is God, devoted to God, unattached, friendly to all — this is the path."

Devotional Surrender

O Lord, I work for You, aim at You, love You, release attachments, and harm none.
