Chapter 11 • Verse 31

आख्याहि मे को भवानुग्ररूपो नमोऽस्तु ते देववर प्रसीद। विज्ञातुमिच्छामि भवन्तमाद्यं न हि प्रजानामि तव प्रवृत्तिम्॥

ākhyāhi me ko bhavān ugra-rūpo namo 'stu te deva-vara prasīda vijñātum ichchhāmi bhavantam ādyaṁ na hi prajānāmi tava pravṛittim

Meaning

Tell me, who are You with this terrible form? Salutations to You, O Supreme God. Be gracious. I wish to know You, the primal one, for I do not understand Your purpose.

Arjuna, overwhelmed, asks directly: who is this terrible one? He bows, begs for grace, wants to understand. He admits confusion about divine purpose. This honest question, born of genuine bewilderment, invites Krishna's self-revelation.

Strength Reflection

"When confused by divine mystery, I ask directly and honestly."

Devotional Surrender

O Supreme Lord, tell me who You are. I do not understand. Be gracious.
